As a practicing lawyer, I wanted to have the best law firm possible. This meant giving my clients the best service and producing the best legal work I and my team were capable of which meant hiring the best.

However, I soon learned that trying to hire the best was expensive and very time-consuming and there are a lot of different roles in my firm that I needed someone to accomplish only part of the time or even for just a few hours each month. This made building my team very difficult and frustrating.

So I did what most solo and small law firms do- I tried to do it myself and I tried to assign my limited staff to do things that they were not trained in.

While spending, and wasting countless hours doing this self-teaching myself, the voice in the back of my mind always nagged me – you should not be doing this. You didn’t go to law school so that you can print your own envelopes, answer my own phone, set my own appointments calendar, and then teach myself all the other small jobs and tasks involved in owning and running my own law firm.

I also remembered my days before law school, when I was the production manager of an overseas team of outsourced staff consisting of hundreds of people working multiple shifts. I always thought that this was my solution that I needed.

And even though I wanted to hire remote workers, I wanted to have the best staff possible. I wanted to hire the most educated and best problem solvers possible. Naturally this meant hiring fellow attorneys whenever possible.

I worked out the issues- laptop security, supervision, assigning work and reviewing work product. And getting this process into a real, workable system.

Although it took many years, I finally built an overseas company ready to help you build the law firm team of your dreams so that you can finally have the law firm of your dreams.
